It's been long time (years) about how WildBit Viewer releases are formed. Usually I have released two (Alpha 1.0, Alpha 2.0) Alpha versions and two (Beta 1.0, Beta 2.0) Beta versions before Final version.
6.9 release is going to be last version about this kind of release cycle.
Since many users are already using these Beta versions before Final is released its time to move on...
New release cycle will be 6.10,6.11,6.12,6.13... so no more Alpha, Beta versions.
stay tuned and stay safe...
Hi. Is there any way to get metadata from PNG files? AI-generated images contain prompt and generation parameters. It would be convenient to browse the image archive and be able to view and copy the meta data.
ReplyDeleteHello, Just checked that some metadata can be read from png files. Not sure yet what is the result :) I will try and if its okay solution then you can see it in maybe next version.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) If it helps in testing, here are some examples of PNG files with this typical metadata:

Thanks for the example files. I have now downloaded those png images. Nice examples :)
ReplyDeleteYes it looks like its possible to do for example one file partial result is (not posting full result here):
ReplyDeleteA 3d render of (a flying colorful hummingbird )+++ and a purple flower on a foreground, (DOF)+++
........
........
Steps: 20, Sampler: DPM++ 2M Karras, CFG scale: 7, Seed: 2503843573, Size: 1472x1280, Model hash: a7e848cb, Denoising strength: 0.7, First pass size: 0x0
Great! If the UI will have a convenient ability to view and copy metadata (maybe a 'copy to clipboard' button) - it will make it convenient to work with huge sets of graphics. It's a hot topic at the moment. If one of the new versions of WildBit Viewer includes such functionality, I'd love to promote your software on Reddit in the Stable Diffusuion and AI Art communities. Thank you :)
DeleteSince the metadata varies between images its rather difficult to show it in nice way :(. But showing it anyway, its doable and also copy to clipboard is possible to do.
ReplyDeleteI mean, some metadata includes json and some is not.
ReplyDeleteNo, there will be no json in the metadata. There is the same structure everywhere: one or more lines of text with a prompt. Then there can be, but not always, one or more lines with negative prompt (always starts with 'Negative prompt:'). And the last line is a generation parameters like 'Steps: 20, Sampler: DPM++ 2M Karras, CFG scale: 7, Seed:...' etc.
ReplyDeleteAs for the amount of text - indeed, sometimes requests are long and may contain a lot of text. There's no point in guessing how many lines it may take at most. Perhaps it makes sense to provide vertical scrolling instead.

I have now made it so that this metadata displayed in Viewer -> Image Info, under Other tab. It will be listed as Keys. In the Values field that will be raw value for the key. Selected value can be copied to clipboard. I have included in to Search -> Other choice its under EXIF, IPTC.. tab so basically you can search png images with metadata for example if bird word is there or not. I will try to launch next version soon :)
ReplyDeleteThis feature is now available in 6.10 version :)
