Feature requests for Slide Show

If you have any feature requests, please comment :)

  1. My feature request is to be able to have a thin resizable photo frame that provides similar functionality to the Microsoft Slideshow gadget although with the ability to resize the frame.
At this moment your software is the only one that provides a resizable window that comes even close to being used for this purpose.

  2. Hi Mark,

Yes I think that would be possible to do. There are several ways to do it. One is to hide top status bar and bottom settings. So user can see is caption bar where is title and size and position. Or make it even thinner, user sees only floating image. That thinner idea might lead to problems too. Anyway thank you for the idea. You might see some kind of implementation soon.

  3. Hi Mark,

Border Only View is coming in to next Slide Show dev version. Also its possible to launch Slide Show directly in to Border Only View. Border Only View makes thin border around image and border is resizable and slide show is movable too.

  6. I would like to be able to display any Exif field. The current list is directed at techie stuff about the photo. I would like to be able to display full location data and also a formatted date (no time). I run a slide show continuously in the living room for family, visitors and myself to watch as art. Photos are to be seen not hidden away.

I currently use GeoSetter to write exif data about the location into the photos. It uses ExifTool by Phil Harvey. This allows State, city, and sublocation (which is useful when edited overriding map data). I currently use Irfanview's slide show which does not appear to be true random and it is a pain for multiple subfolders. (I have 40,000 photos). But it does allow for much wider choice of exif data then other slideshow software.

  7. Hi Herb,

So you need from IPTC those State, City and Sublocation. But what do you need from the EXIF GPS tags? Latitude and Longitude is covered now. For ex. do you need Altitude as well?

Can you send to me example image where is those all infos are included in Exif/IPTC and please send also info what is needed to display.

  8. It would be great to be able to quickly delete a photo file from within the SlideShow. Many other slide show viewers offer this feature. Thanks!
